Ron's commerical?

Here is Ron's T.V. ad running in New Hampshie to help him gain more exposure for the upcoming New Hampshire primaries.



OK, its not too great. I think the problem is Ron didn't hire actors. He hired Ron Paul supporters in his commercial. He's actually doing the right thing by not hiring actors because its truthful, but unfortunately the supporters in this commercial don't know how to read a script and made the commercial seem cheesy and low - brow.

But the commercial may have the opposite effect. People will remember it for being so bad that it's the only political commercial they remember, and vote Ron Paul. That could be the trick.

Republican Debate - Michigan

Last Tuesday was the GOP Republican debate in Michigan and it brought with it new changes, faces and fights. The big story before the debate was a first debate appearance by Tennessee's U.S. Senator ('94 - 02') Fred Thompson. His performance was fair at best. He paused many times, didn't separate himself from the pack and didn't seem to have a concrete stance on any major topic. And, needless to say, The "Law and Order" actor was soon torn apart in the media.

The big news after the debate seemed to be the petty bickering between Republican front - runner candidates Rudy Giuliani and Mitt Romney. Although it made news, I don't believe it should have. I think the news and media houses simply wanted to choose something to highlight in an otherwise "standard" debate and used the small disagreement between Romney and Giuliani about who lowered taxes more, to try to create an interesting news story.

The bickering was nothing more than a playful exchange of words between two debaters which didn't even last two minutes. It wasn't a big deal.

A major topic was also Hillary Clinton. Her name popped up several times throughout the debate from different candidates. But I believe it was nothing more than an attempt from each candidate (who mentioned her name) to just take a stab at the democratic front-runner.

As for Ron Paul......

In my opinion Dr. Paul seemed too quiet. He didn't say much, but, on the other hand, he really wasn't asked many questions by the moderators. He was probably just being polite.

Ron did have a great moment in the debate however. In a moment of pure bureaucracy with the other candidates considering conatacing their lawyers about matters of national security, Ron Paul hit the roof. Declaring "All this talk about lawyers......all you have to do is open up the Constitution and read the Constitution.

Ron Paul calls himelf the "Champion of the Constitution" and he definietely is compared to the candidates he is running against for the Republican party nomination. It is in my humble opinion that he might need to be a little louder next time.

"Maxed Out"

I just saw a great movie tonight called "Maxed out". It's an independent documentary about the unforgivable world of credit card debt. A world, unfortunately, most Americans experience in their life. And what really stuck out to me was how credit card companies specifically target college students who are un-informed about money and debt.

And what I kept thinking while watching the tear -jerking scenes in the movie was how it directly ties in with Ron Paul and the changes he wants to make.

Dr. Paul want to get rid of the big banks who are supporting the credit card companies and their unforgivng practices.

Between health insurance, a home payment, car payments, and everything else, its difficult for the average American to stay a float without the help of loans and credit. But for every 1 dollar given back to the lender there are two more dollars being given in interest. It's a sickening statistic. I am all for loans and credit but it is these private companies which take advantage of the system, charge consumers way too much in interest and keep people continuously in the hole and borrowing more and more money. It's a viscious cycle.

If this trend continues there will no longer be a middle class; just rich people and poor people. And I assure you there will be many more poor people.

Dr. Paul want to strengthen the middle class and stabilize the economy.

Now, I am well aware that with credit cards come responsibilities and that you must be aware of your interest rates and your budget. But credit card companies should have some responsibility of their own and not try to target the poor, weak citizens who will just keep paying month after month, and who's only escape is through death.

Ron Paul - Hope for America

In case you are one of the many Americans un-informed about politics in this country, then let me tell you about a specific candidate making waves in the world of politics. His name is, of course, Ron Paul, the texas congressman running for President in 2008.
His message is simple - Freedom. Dr. Paul wants limited constitutional government, low taxes, free markets and solid monetary policies. Or in other words, he wants to completely shut down the IRS, take the federal tax out of your paycheck, and get America back on the gold standard. It's the change we need as Americans who have lived under the Bush regime for the last several years and have seen billions go missing, a drop in the value of the dollar, the patriot act, and, lets not forget, Bush's little propaganda war.
A lot of people don't know that the IRS and the federal tax are unconstitutional and therefore illegal, but because the public fears government, they rule with an iron fist. That's not the way a free country is suppose to be run, it is suppose to be the opposite - the government should fear its people, but that hasn't been the case here in America for the last few years. And Ron Paul knows it and wants to change it.
Now, what makes your support for Ron Paul even more important is because he is running as a republican. Go figure, right? Well, the reason he is running as a republican (and has opposite views of the party) is because the republican party has lost its way and has become too conservative. Dr. Paul is trying to revert the party back to its original beliefs, back when great leaders like Abraham Lincoln were in the party. And we need to see him succeed. We need to vote for Ron Paul come the Republican primaries because most Republicans don't want to see him succeed because they're too stubborn and disconnected from the real world, all they care about is killing the "evil - doer's" which, in their opinion, is basically anyone with brown skin and a turbon.
